Steps To Setup An MSN Messenger Account


MSN Messenger is an easy way to stay in touch with your closed ones. The MSN Messenger application that was first launched in the year 1999 allows its users to send instant messages and exchange emails with ease. Follow the steps below to set your MSN account.

Set up a Microsoft Passport Account

Switch on your desktop or laptop.
Login in as the administrator.
Enter your password and username next to the labels Username and Password to log into your administrative account.  
Launch the start menu by clicking on the Start icon located on the bottom left corner of the taskbar on your Window’s home screen.
Launch the web browser on your computer. Navigate to the Microsoft Passport web site.
Find the label that reads Get Started Now. You will find the above label under the title, Sign Up Today. You can choose one of the two links on the Sign Up Today page. Either you can sign up using an existing email account or you can go for creating a new hotmail account to sign in. Follow the first link if you do not have an email account. Choose the second one if you already have an Email account.
Select the link that reads Get Started Now under the label Use an Email Address You Already Have.
Enter your Email address into the empty field next to the label Email address.
Choose a password to secure your account. Make sure that it is alphanumeric. Re-enter the password when prompted. Make sure that you enter the same when asked to re-enter.
Set a security question. Enter your answer in to the space under the section Secret Answer.

Log into MSN Messenger with your Passport account

Switch on your desktop or laptop.
Login in as the administrator.
Enter your password and username next to the labels Username and Password to log into your administrative account.  
Launch the MSN Messenger application on your computer.
Enter the Email address that you had used to create your MSN account into the space next to the label that reads Email Address.
Enter the password that you had used to create your MSN account.
Select the Sign in option to sign into your MSN account.
